I do not understand the haphazard results
Hi again Curt,
It definitely seems as if the problem arises during the conversion process, which then corrupts the file and is why it won't play and is so small.
A few more suggestions I can make are:
- Make sure you are you running Jaksta from the top level of your Applications folder (ie. it should not be inside a sub-folder in Applications)
- Check that your Download Location and Conversion Location in the Preferences are set to a place that still exists and is accessible (ie. be certain that you don't have the downloads directed to an external drive that is no longer connected)
I doubt it will be the second one, as the log file indicates that you have the download location set to the desktop - make sure the conversion location is also set an existing location, and that the permissions on the folder allow for it to be edited.
If these do changes do not resolve the issue, then a future update may fix it. We are hoping to have the next one out in the coming months and we will notify you when it is released.
As far as other products go, you could try Jaksta Media Recorder and download the whole video and then convert it to an audio file. But this may have the same problem, as the programming operates the same way as Music Miner. Alternatively, there are online sites that can download and convert YouTube videos into audio files of a specified file type, which would effectively give the same result.
Try these final suggestions and hopefully it will come good.

Hi Curt,
Sorry for the all trouble this is giving you.
The only other thing I can suggest is updating your Mac OS from 10.11 El Capitan to 10.12 Sierra.
See if that makes the difference.

Also Curt,
Could you check something for me?
In your Jaksta files there should be a list of downloaded files and then a sub-folder called 'Converted'.
If the downloaded files are very small or are 0 bytes, then that means there was an issue with the download and then the conversion failed following the download. If they are a reasonable size and only the files in the 'Converted' folder are tiny, then that means the issue was with the conversion.
Can you also supply the links that you tried from pandora and soundcloud (especially any that DID work) as well as any additional YouTube links you have tested.

Only 2 of these files converted
Hi Curt,
Can you please supply the links so that I can test them.
We need to determine if it is the sites and streams that are non-compatible with Jaksta, or if it is something to do with your setup that is creating the problem.
Considering that some files are downloading and converting properly, it suggests that the programs works as it should and it is in fact the streams that are the issue.

Hi Curt,
So all of the videos except for a couple gave me download errors. These two: https://youtu.be/WPSZkCt2nWM, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGV0uAgK44E&feature=youtu.be,
downloaded, converted and played fine.
It seems to me that until we get a newer version out to fix the issue, you won't be able to download some videos from that Damon Fowler guy. This is most likely just due to the streaming method used by YouTube for those videos, and you would have the same problem with any other videos that are streamed the same way. I have actually put one of the videos you supplied earlier into our 'list of problem videos/sites to be fixed', so whatever aspect of it that gives Jaksta problems should be sorted with a future update.
From both of our testing, it seems that some files can download and some can't, so it gives the impression that the problem is not with the program, but is either the files you are trying to download or some other aspect of your setup that is interfering with the process.
The only thing I can suggest at this point is to sit tight for an update which will hopefully fix the issue. Also, did you try actually fully reinstalling Music Miner at any point? If not, definitely try that.
