Jaksta

Hi, I am attempting to download from a specific website and it works from time to time but is very irregular. Sometimes the link gets picked up, sometimes it  doesn't. Sometimes when it begins downloading an error appears in the status column stating Error (Bit rate changed). How can I resolved this? Log file attached.

Hi Patrick,

Unfortunately this type of error is associated with sites changing the bit rate "on the fly" and performing other complex changes to the stream that can cause problems for Jaksta. Often they are specifically designed to prevent downloading apps like Jaksta from working.

It looks like this is occurring for http://www.studiosweatondemand.com/ (is this correct?)

We will look into fixing the issue for this site if we can.

Hi Ben, yes thats correct. I went through the settings on the site itself but there is nothing about setting a standard speed. Other times as well, the tool does not pick up the stream. Would you need a separate log for that?

Hi Patrick,

Sorry for the delay. Video sites virtually never allow you to set a specific bit rate for the stream - they will decide how to stream it. In many cases changes like this may be specifically designed to throw off programs such as Jaksta. We just need to adapt to it and work around it if we can. The log you sent should be fine - we can reproduce the problems from here.

Hello! 

I have the same problem with videos from here: http://www.ruhrnachrichten.de/videos/

They seem to have multiple resolution videos? That they change along the way, resulting to that bit rate change error in Jaksta.

Hopefully there's a workaround for this error.

Thanks for the link.

I've added this to our list. We will add support for these sites if we can. I can't promise anything, but sometimes when we add support for new protocols it fixes a number of sites at once.

having issues with https://www.wattsatelier.com as well!!!!!!! The whole reason I purchased jaskta was for this website
