I've had the same problem that many of you have had with the JMR-2023 Update - it won't recopgnize my license key.
On 05-05-2023 I received an email from Jaksta support:
Your activation code will remain valid for all future versions of Jaksta for Windows.
Therfore, no new license should be necessary.
The following steps worked for me to reinstall JMR-2022.3.13.0 for Windows after the JMR-2023 update failure.
PLEASE NOTE: Thhis assumes you have a copy of JMR-2022.3.13.0.exe
1. Completeley uninstall JMR-2023. i used Geek Uninstaller to do this.
a) JMR-2023 has 3 components; NPcap, NetMonitor, and JMR-2023. I uninstalled NeMonitor and NPCap first, then JMR-2023.
2. If you still have JMR-2022.3.13.0 installed, try it. If it works, great. If not, proceed to step 3.
3. Completeley uninstall JMR-2022.3.13.0 (see step 1, Geek Uninstaller)
4. Reboot, then reinstall JMR-2022.3.13.0 (if you have it).
This procedure recovered JMR-2022.3.13.0, and my old license key worked. Until they get JMR-2023 fixed, I suggest you go to the "Get Support" tab in JMR-2022 and set "Check for new version on start" to OFF.
Hope this helps.
I'm having a similar issue as well where my software updated without any errors, but it did not upgrade my existing 2022 installation or detect any of my monitors. It's also telling me that my key does not work.
2022 may be working for now - but what about when YouTube tinkers with its system and Jaksta needs an updated extraction engine or new version? Then we're stymied!
I noticed that there's already been an extraction engine update for 2023 but I didn't respond to the notification.
(As 2022 is functioning normally I have not uninstalled 2023, it's lying dormant here, maybe waiting to torment me!)
Same problem as described above. The latest update only installs as a trial version and previous activation key is invalid. Also the new installation damages the previous version. To solve the problem uninstall both the new and previous versions and reinstall the previous version which works. Disable the update nag screen in the get support screen. Frankly I am amazed that Jaksta have released this update without testing it properly. Certainly with so many posts and no solution or even acknowledgement from Jaksta the developers should pull this update.
Reply to Lynne.
You will find the link to JMR-2022.3.13.0.exe in the downloads list on your computer. Just go to "This PC" and click on downloads and you should find the original link to reinstate your previous edition of Jaksta.
However, this 2023 version did not uninstall previous versions, so the previous version should still be there on your computer, maybe you've lost the desktop shortcut?
As a test I'm going to see if we're allowed to attach exe files to posts here...
Oh, they're saying it's too big. I suppose it'll have to be zipped...
Well I zipped it but it's still too big.
The file in Dropbox is the original JMR-2022.3.13.0.exe file downloaded from Jaksta when that version was released.
Well, it's there to try if Support don't respond very soon - I can imagine how desperate you are :(
@Patricia
Thanks so much for your reply. I'm a bit afraid to try downloading your link in case it doesn't work and I lose 2022.3.13.0 completely. Going to hang on and pray Jaksta replies tomorrow and at least sends me a confirmed working link for 2022.3.13.0. I may try your link if they don't.
Is it normal for so many unsolved problems with Jaksta Media Recorder? I read many good reviews before downloading but now see many people have problems. Didn't expect the update to ruin my existing software. So frustrating. Thank you again.

I hope this link will allow you (or anyone) to download the exe from my Dropbox:

Just uninstalled 2023 version and it HAS messed up my 2022.3.13.0 version so I have ZERO software now! My 2022 software puts up a message "DVR is not available. The DVR features are not installed correctly. Please reinstall this application." But I can't uninstall 2022.3.13.0 & re-install it because Jaksta no longer provides a link to download JMR 2022.3.13.0! I'm in a real mess and really upset as I need the software now! Wish I'd never followed Jaksta's prompt to download 2023 version. No one else download this update! Desperately need help! At least send me a link to re-download JMR 2022.3.13.0 again! PLEASE reply Jaksta staff!
SAME problem here! I installed the new 2023 version of Jaksta Media Recorder. It ignored the old version and installed a new version as well. It will not accept the old activation key so it's only a Trial Version. Worse still, it won't record anything but gives a message : "Unable to find Speaker (Digital Video Recorder)" When I switch off Audio Redirection it records full screen but with very faint poor audio!
I'm now going to try to uninstall the 2023 version and pray it doesn't mess up my 2022 version!
I was hoping the 2023 version would solve my existing problem of not being able to record Full Screen only 3/4 screen on my 2022 version. It DID! But I can't use it because it doesn't record proper audio and it's only the Trial version! Would the non-Trial version of 2023 record Full Screen? Can you sort out the Audio and Activation Key problems? Jaksta staff please reply!
And why isn't there any new Release Notes about this new version?
I realized this whole thing broke also my network monitor and all settings like naming rules....
WTF guys?!
I have had similar problems. Starting JMR I was told of update, and also found that "new version doesn't "see" the existing 2022.3.13.0 version and therefore installs a fresh install.", which completely messed up my system. Jaksta froze.
I now request advice please:
1. do I do a complete removal of any previous Jaksta installation?
2. where are settings stored? can I transfer settings? I wish not to have to re-set from scratch
3. how do I "reactivate" any new installation?
Patricia
Result of update was "no monitors available" and an invitation to tour audio features... in a frozen box - unable to OK anything or close down, had to use Task Manager "End Task".
I ran the update again but it said it would update 2023 5.8.1, rather than the 2022 version that is active, so I exited down the update.
2022 is still working so am waitng for advice before trying again.
(I keep meaning to update my previous problem about JMR 2022 crashing repeatedly - it stopped crashing within a few hours of my last post, no explanation.)
